Client in the red? What about the client in the red-corner notice?
We figured his name was triggering off warnings all over the flight reservation systems - as it appeared on an Interpol red corner notice. Not the ideal way to do business.
We then figured that there was someone else with an unsavoury past and a coincidentally similar name who was tagged on those look-out lists. And hence when our client's name turned up on flight manifests, it triggered off an unfortunate set of warnings.
While we did try to connect with the international police organization - and made a little headway, finally it was easier to separately build out a new online identity.
We used a less common version of his name. Created a load of content and backlinks around it. Made sure the internet search results on this new, slightly different name didn't pick up police warnings. And then suggested that he start making bookings with this slightly altered, yet fully acceptable identity.
And voila, our man could fly again.
Sometimes you help a client's business take off. Sometimes you help him take off.
