The world doesn't need another agency. So we didn't build another one.

The short answer

Dividing the agency world into ‘creative’ and ‘media’ firms doesn’t solve this – especially in the digital scheme of things.

The world doesn't need another agency. So we didn't build another one.

Agencies, we believe, are artifacts of not even the 20th century, but the 19th, when they were ‘agents’ of publishers and earned commissions to sell ad space. We're not an ‘agency’. Our job is to make clients rich - not publishers.

This flies in the face of the traditional advertising agency revenue model, which is dependent, directly or indirectly, on shares and percentages of ad spends.

Dividing the agency world into ‘creative’ and ‘media’ firms doesn’t solve this – especially in the digital scheme of things.

Would you hire one firm to write a tweet that can spread virally and another to write a less effective tweet that will be paid to be ‘promoted’? Will you have one team build great organic engagement with your brand on Facebook and another buy disconnected ads around it? Can you honestly look at building your presence on Google search results by assigning keyword optimization, social optimization, paid search presence and video results to different firms?

Creative and media are seamlessly integrated when it comes to digital brand management. But yet few brands – and fewer agencies - see it that way.

Integrating creative and media is just one part of the change needed.

If the digital world is so metrics-driven why aren’t firms paid proportional to their measured performance? By dividing responsibilities are you allowing your vendors to blame each other if and when there’s a lack of performance?

One sure-fire way to arrive at the root of the problem is to follow the money. And when you do so, it becomes obvious you can’t make rearrange-deckchairs-on-the-Titanic type of changes to cater to this new world. Pinstorm is built different, from the ground up.

From our beliefs around real-time marketing, to our thoughts on how consumers and media are changing, on how marketers need to respond – and on what might make for a more sensible compensation model in this new world. Read on to see the difference we make to brands.
